Principium

Behind the Studio

Like most things we encounter, I guess it boils down to mutual friends with a mutual interest.

The funny thing is: I don't know how it really began. It might have been a high-end camera was purchased and the idea was spread through the circle like a virus.  Soon, we all had the equipment, but more importantly - we shared the notion that creative expression was literally available at our fingertips. Our little project amongst friends was born.

But this isn't your beer-league softball team. This isn't your fantasy football team made up of cubicle neighbors. Just 4 guys with bored weekends and no yards to mow, but with the ability to see things in non-linear ways.

A former Marine, an analytical chemist, an IT professional, and a corporate tax auditor - not your typical ingredients to make a professional photography company.

It's as if it evolved...

Which brings us to our opening scene of Behind the Studio:

An interactive and inside look into how seemingly simple and organic ideas can evolve into images which are eternal, but not just in pixels or 0's and 1's - but as a permanent glimpse into what vision, whether it be abstract or literal, can produce.

A photograph is made by the reaction of light with a respective sensor, but the final image and perspective is born from creativity and evolving ideas. Look at it long enough, and an idea becomes something entirely new.

This is a documentation of how our vision and perspective can evolve throughout the process.

And now we would like you to be involved. We are striving to capture interpretations and viewpoints of ideas that you provide.

Email us at thewitness@thewitnessstudios.com with your name and a one word idea of what you would like to see us capture. You can also post a comment on our Facebook page facebook.com/thewitnessstudios. Your photo and it's evolutionary story could be featured in this blog and you will receive your own print made of the image, FREE.

Think of it as your chance at a once in a lifetime "on-demand" experience into owning a photograph that you had a hand in creating with us.

Again, we're looking for just a one-word idea to go off ("struggle", "pain", "childhood", etc) to begin this process, so help us out.
